I lie quietly in my bed . . .
Remembering the things that she said –
I try to sleep, but there is no rest
An argument of dynamics at its best!
“The words
I said fell flat,
It was just
a point I was getting at:
I didn’t
meant to insinuate she was fat –
I know the subject is never it!”
So now here I lie in bed all alone . . .
Not truly
knowing what went wrong –
I’ve always tried to treat her right,
Now only loneliness fills my night!
Memories come quietly as I lie still . . .
Still seeing
those eyes that could kill!
