PLEASE GO AWAY

I don’t care for winter

Or a cold bed to enter –

I love the spring,

Grace said at dinner,

And a sweet sound

Of rain coming down.

Love I like to say,

And lay around all day,

Hearing the birds sing

The flowers sway

In meadows they play

As time drifts away.

By a stream I can sit,

And I love wit –

I love to have a laugh!

A baseball to hit –

I do understand winter,

Margarita’s in a blinder.

But winter I’d like to say:

“Will you please go away?”
