The rising of the evening tide,
The waves cap then collide –
And it seems the wind can’t decide,
But upon the waves it will ride:
As darkness
waits for the light.
Bodies embraced upon the sheet,
Covers pulled around our feet –
Here it appears that life is complete,
While leaves blow across the street:
As darkness
waits on the light.
And when the darkness is gone,
And we know life will carry on –
But it’s our spirit that sets the tone,
Praying that we are never alone:
As darkness
waits on the light.
It’s in our hearts that we know,
The tide will never stay low –
And the winds will always blow,
And to heaven we pray we go:
As darkness
waits on the light.
It’s only the truth that I have to tell,
It comes down to heaven or hell –
We all will sin – we all will fell,
And with the Lord we want to dwell:
And here darkness
fines the light.
