Awake! For love’s sake, that cries all night
The darkness waits to fill the room with light –
All night
long the heart seeks your touch,
But to the soul only comes a silent hush . . .
Awake! For love’s sake, the pain is too much!
I wait for
dawn, but time gets in no rush –
I lie in silence as if I need to say:
“You broke my heart – you took love away,”
Even in my
dreams you won’t let me be!
And in this darkness the world cannot see –
The loneliness that the night always brings!
And yes, it’s
your memory my heart clings!
Awake! For love’s sake, I have cried enough,
And without you this life is just too tough!
