LOVE I DIDN’T WIN

 

I watched as she walked by,

Such beauty, I just sigh . . .

To her a poem I once wrote

It’s brings a lump to my throat,

I called out, “Have a great day!”

She turns and looks my way!

Then a smile comes on her face,

And then my heart begins to race –

Such beauty, those eyes of passion,

And to her I want to run . . .

I watched as went out of sight,

Those blue jeans fitting her tight –

I stop, and I take it all in . . .

I still love her – but I didn’t win!
