When
going to war don’t make friends,
And we let others make a command –
They
are here today and gone tomorrow
Like an hourglass dispensing sand!
The
cries of men will trouble the soul
Like shadows of the sun and moon –
O
the games of war that men like to play,
While a young man lies in his tomb!
There’s
no justification for killing others,
And we all know it’s about the money –
All
the war factories are up and running,
And the smell of death is never funny!
When
going to war don’t make friends,
For the memories of war, it never ends!
