WHEN TIME IS UP

  

When I’m lying in a box of pine –

What thoughts will come to your mind?

Will you think of the times I held you close

Or what will you remember the most?

We always knew this time would come –

So, please remember all the fun

We had, and don’t worry about me . . .

Just know it’s in heaven I will be!

This old world was never my home

I’m glad it didn’t travel this journey alone!

When I’m lying in a box of pine –

I’ll live where the sun will always shine –

This life will surely come to an end,

But God promises that eternity will begin!

SKIN HUNGER

 

In the stillness

I long for your touch –

As the sheets linger

I need you so much!

The dawn lies in waiting

The clock strikes four

In the quietness

Always needed more –

My heart is pounding

Passion grips my soul,

In the stillness

Things I need to know!

O this hunger –

Of things that were!

MINEFIELDS OF LIFE

 

 

Always with my back against the wind

Sometimes I feel defeated before I begin –

Life can be like a minefield . . .

Fighting a world that is unwilling to yield!

We all need someone else to blame!

The problem is – it all looks the same –

I rise in the morning to start my day,

Then I think, “Dear Lord, I need to pray!”

Life is not the way it used to be . . .

Evil lingers in the darkness I never see!

But onward I trod through life’s maze

Enduring the storms that often stays –

Always with my back against the wind

Hoping that someday this will all end!

TEST OF FAITH

 

I woke up this morning

It was a restless night –

Me and the Devil always fight!

My faith he will somehow test,

I guess he thinks I will forget,

But I know I’m still blessed!

Mistakes I’ve made – that I regret!

But I know that my Lord is real,

And I’m going to live until

It’s time for me to go home –

The Lord forgave me for my wrong,

But the Devil will test one’s will!

Focus on the Lord and he will flee,

That’s the only way he’ll let me be!
