Slowly,
quietly, I walk alone
The
nightly moonlight is shown –
Shadows
dance – so hard to see
Like
this loneliness in me . . .
The
Fireflies I try to catch
Outward
my hands I stretch –
Then
the fog rises from the bog,
And
in the distance a barking dog
I
know the world is trying to sleep,
And
what we sow we also reap –
O
time, O time you slip on by,
And
to my mind I don’t know why!
Then
I stop and stare at the stars,
Knowing,
heaven lies beyond Mars?
