When
I opened the door, the light was dim,
But she was lying in the moonlight –
Where
shadows reflected from her pretty hair,
And I could see the peacefulness on her
face!
I just stood there for a while thinking:
“How
blessed can one man be?”
Then
I was overtaken with emotions!
O
how the years have just faded away . . .
All of life’s ups and downs –
And
I must admit my priorities were wrong,
It’s funny how life can get in the way!
Only now can I face the truth about things:
“It’s
called man’s worst paradox!”
Making
a living took the place of good sense!
