As I sit and hold your hand

I hope you understand –

I will never make a demand

I’m just a broken man!

 

All these feelings I hold . . .

You just simply need to know –

It’s this broken heart I show

I hope I’m not being too bold?

 

More than these words can say,

And all the games I’ve played –

And the times I’ve been afraid,

But darling this is a new day!

 

As I sit and hold your hand

Please forgive this broken man!
