EYES THAT CAN SEE

 

The clouds roll in

   The wind lies still –

There’s sadness in me

   I’ve lost my will,

 

And I don’t know why

   Thoughts in my head

Of a time gone by

   O the words she said!

 

The sheets still linger

   Hearts filled with desire!

O what went wrong?

   Of such nights on fire!

 

I lie awake at night

   The darkness is still –

I count all my memories,

   And I’ll love you until,

 

The stars no longer shine:

   “My regrets will be

That I let her slip away,

   Now, in darkness I see!”
