MISFORTUNE PASSES

They called him Mr. Harvey

A little slow – some say retarded!

He worn these old sneakers on his feet,

And you’ll see him in garbage bins

That lined the filthy street.

He was once a prominent man,

But something happened I understand

That turned his world upside down –

We all are guilty of our own sins

Heartaches and sadness we have found.

We look at others with a judgmental eye,

And we never ask the reasons why!

We just put on our rose colored glasses,

And in our smugness we just grin

Then wait while this misfortune passes.

They called him Mr. Harvey

A little slow – some say retarded!

With dirty clothes and a shaggy beard,

But all he ever needed was a friend

So I ask, “Did you find that a little weird?
