MY HEART KNOWS

I sit and think – useless thoughts I guess,

I think of the world and all its mess!

All the hatred that seems to be in men,

And I wonder if it will ever end –

So many evil souls – wishing us all death

Hating even our last breath –

May God forgive them!

I sit and think – my heart has little desire!

I looked around, and no one I admire

Wasteful thoughts, needing better things

Out of men, but only sorrow it brings –

But in the end my heart knows

Life is filled with worries and woes –

May God forgive them!

I sit and think – my head I scratch!

Useless thoughts – none of them match,

Only a broken heart filled with pain,

Looking back at all that have been slain!

I cry out to God – silence it seems

“We need justice!” A life of dreams –

May I forgive men as well!

ALL SET IN PLACE

When winter comes, we wait for spring

Everything becomes dead, everything!

Leaves are falling all around

Then they cover the ground!

All we can do is sit and wait

Old man winter knocks at the gate!

Playing in the snow when I was young,

And catching snowflakes on my tongue!

Snowballs were thrown, and I was hit,

And I remember I didn’t like it!

But oh, memories they come and go,

And what if it doesn’t snow!

All is set in place with God’s purpose,

And God’s plan is never to hurt us!

It’s been this way since our birth

So, make the best of times here on earth!

NEVER READY

I guess it’s about time

That the flowers begin to fade –

So, let’s talk about cold weather,

And all the snow that’s made!

This type of weather comes here,

And everything turns brown –

The hills all covered with snow,

And the leaves fall to the ground!

Of course, we are never ready,

And we just forget about fall –

Pumpkins lying in empty fields

Most are huge, and some small!

I guess it’s about time . . .

To just accept reality in our mind!

STORMS OF LOVE

The sweetness of words we like to eat,

In the warm sand we cover our feet –

Troubled storms are all we know,

Dark clouds follow where many go!

The sun finally comes out, at least

And the harsh winds have ceased –

The meaning of life we all seek,

But seldom is it the truth we speak?

A young child, a mother must wean,

And to a spouse we have to cling –

Love in a heart we cannot measure

It’s like honey to a mouth of pleasure!

In the distance a small voice is calling,

And in love our hearts are falling.

THE ONE THING I HATE

Last night I saw you cry . . .

It was like tears falling from the sky,

And I asked her why?

You simply said, “That you were hurt,

And that I treated you like dirt!”

Maybe it’s because you’re such a flirt?

I can assure you that didn’t get me far,

So, I poured me a drink from the bar,

And I let her know she is still my star!

Then in quietness there was not a sound

It was like lighten dancing on the ground,

And reasoning was nowhere to be found!

Then into her mind I tried to dive –

At least my love, we are still alive . . .

And in your heart don’t feel deprived!

Please forgive me for telling you a lie

In the future my love I promise to try –

The one thing I hate is seeing you cry!

TEARS OF PAIN

I saw a tear

Come down a sad face,

It seemed to say . . . it seemed to say . . .

“No one feels my pain!”

It then fell to the ground

As though its world had died!

I ‘ve always said that sadness has no friends –

Today it will rain,

And no one will see your tears of pain!

TAKOTSUBO SYNDROME

In the night a thought came to me,

As moon shadows fell upon a hill,

The sadness in my heart I didn’t see,

And her spirit won’t let me be,

Like the bedsheets that lie still –

Then I reached across an empty bed,

And then, tears fell upon my pillow!

O God the memories in my head,

When we made love under the willow

While the stars shone and spread

Their colors were blue and yellow.

I’m here! I know you’re coming to see

All my sadness – my broken will,

And to look at this brokenness in me!

“Dear God! Her spirit,” Let me be,

O dear heart be still, please be still!
