What do you say?
From the sounds of
Bullets on their way!
“I’m a patriot,
I’m America’s son
I’m the chosen one,
And I’ll never run!”
I have a purpose,
Just wait and see
“MAGA”
It’s not about me!
Then and only then
I’ll make my stand
I’ll bare the cost
To free our land!
I love America!
And it’s me you hate?
Soon I will say:
“Checkmate!”

O bitter lips! Watch what you say,
And your tongue is evil,
Say words that are good!
There is truth, there is truth, understood?
Truth in a heart brings it delight,
And you will sleep well at night:
Watch what you say,
Then you will enjoy the day!
A choice – strengths’ comes from the roots,
Lace up your strings – put on your boots!
Read a chapter of God’s holy book –
Now in your heart – take a look,
And there you will find,
“A heart that’s tender and kind!”
O bitter lips!

Morning comes early
From a
knock at my door –
I stumble through the dark
Sounds I couldn’t
ignore!
I peeped through the keyhole,
And to my
surprise!
It was a lady dressed in white
With glasses
over her eyes!
I waited, I opened the door:
“Sir my
name is Judy,”
I’m with the Democrat party –
(I’m lobbying
for your vote!)
“I didn’t mean to be a smarty,”
But I hadn’t had my coffee yet!
I bleed
Red, White and Blue,
And what I said I don’t regret:
“Mama, see that Trump sign in my yard!
Apparently you’re some kind of retard!”

Time is going by so fast!
I cannot believe all that has passed –
I try to remember an old love song,
But I guess my memory is gone!
On the news I thought I heard,
But the man’s words were all blurred!
I tried to listen – what was he saying?
Maybe it’s time I started praying –
It was yesterday! I just turned around,
Time dissipated without a sound!
I guess I need to go for a walk . . .
Then to myself I begin to talk –
O the words that flow from my tongue:
“Dear Lord, how I wish I were young!”

Have you ever felt like a bird in a cage?
Do you wonder why you’re filled with rage?
The spirit was made to feel free . . .
But man has put his thumb on you and me!
Have you watched an Eagle glide on the wind?
That was not given by men!
Only God has the right to tell us what to do –
But the Devil has made us all a fool!
A liar opens his mouth – this is what I heard:
“Don’t believe in God, and ignore His word!”
We are all fools – there I said it so plain!
They try to tell us we’re not all the same!
In truth, we all need to go to church –
Otherwise we will sit on the Devil’s perch!

In the shadows of the Blue Ridge
Where time drifted at its own pace –
A young lad playing in fields of sage
Before I knew about the rat race!
Everything was done with purpose!
We knew when to plant and harvest –
In summer we prepared for winter,
Then at night fall we would rest!
Prayer was said at every meal . . .
And at school we honored the flag –
A simple life that had purpose,
And a childhood game called tag!
In the shadows of the Blue Ridge –
Life growing up without a fridge!

In my mind I struggle
I struggle to hear –
I talk to the wind . . .
Then I feel it come near –
I look deep into my soul
Things don’t seem right
I need to figure it out
Fears of flight or fight!
I’m sad, I’m all alone,
And this is growing old!
Perhaps it’s insanity,
But I need to know!
I look into myself . . .
I look up and smile
God watches over me
I’m still His child!
“What is wrong Lord?”
You said not to fear!
“Live life in moments,
And know that I am here!
Put away your troubles
Roll up your sleeves –
The storms will pass
You just have to believe!”
I start to think again
Then my thoughts shift:
I have been here before
My spirit needed a lift!
It’s a moment in time
As truth comes to light –
Then my fears fade away
Yes God, You were right!
