ONE MORE DAY

 

A journey in life of Good and Evil,

But Lord, I will never walk alone!

You are there at every step

You catch me when I stumble

You send your angels to protect me,

And Lord I know You love me!

You shine Your light into my darkness,

And in You Lord my soul finds rest!

The Devil lures me into temptation,

But Lord You are there to save me –

Lord You said there will be storms,

But not to fear – You’re always near,

And You’d keep my enemies at bay –

So thank You Lord for one more day!

THERE ARE REASONS

 

A large man sat with a double chin,

And he wondered if he had a friend –

Then came a gust of wind in the trees,

As he thought, who could he please?

Yes he was once a very thin man . . .

But life had made too many demands!

We can all sit back and judge others –

A friend, a sister or even our brothers

Without knowing their circumstance –

A snarl, a smirk, and a disgusting glance!

You see God is the one that will judge,

And He will never hold a grudge . . .

Remember beyond appearance is a heart,

And there are reasons that life fell apart!

WISER NOW

I ponder,

Life

It’s stressful

At times,

Thinking

Far too much!

I’m alive

That matters

The alternative

Not a choice!

So I relax

Take life

As it comes

I’m alive

I’m happy

I can refocus

It’s a choice

I’m positive

I look around

Blessings

Too many

To count!

I ponder

Life

I’m accountable

Wrong choices

I participated

Now I regret

Stupid

Needs no introduction!

But I learned

God forgives

So I’m good,

And I am wiser now!

LORD BE MERCIFUL

 

We race through life

Just to get ahead –

And we give little thought

Of the misery we spread!

 

Just think of the things we need!

A new car! A new house!

(Got to keep up with the Jones)

We have to please the spouse!

 

Working ourselves to an early grave,

And we just can’t get by –

I guess we thought we’d live forever

There is always time to die!

 

Lord be merciful upon us, please –

Greed is an unforgivable disease!

HEAVEN WAITS

Be tough, O heart, be tender, and true!

This wicked world you have to view –

Pray! Pray!

Hope for a better day,

And don’t let sadness get in your way!

 

God is love! Put that thought in your head –

Tomorrow will come – no need to dread!

Today! Today!

Speak truth and say:

“Troubles will soon be on their way!”

 

And turn your eyes upon a clear sky,

And to live we all must die

Sing! Sing!

“To this life we cannot cling,”

Heaven waits – there is not a better thing!

TOO MANY REGRETS

 

I toss and I turn – I’m awake now!

   I have to admit I’ve been here before –

Life’s regrets that I have suppressed

   Come knocking at my mind’s door!

 

Now my head is spinning with thoughts,

   And there is no way I can sleep!

Too many memories – too many regrets –

   Too much sadness that runs deep!

 

Guilt shows up when you least expect it,

   And for some reason it all the same –

Locked on our grid of years gone by

   The heartaches, the hurts, and pain!

 

I toss and I turn – I’m awake now!

I’m sad, but I always endure somehow.

LURES OF THE NIGHT

 

With all the time spent

Not a moment I’ll ever resent!

Arms locked in a tender embrace

Chiffon panties with velvet lace –

Lips dripping with ruby wine

Bodies entangled so sublimed!

The sheets now lay in waiting

Where hearts are hesitating –

Passion abounds in your eyes,

But it’s too late to compromise!

There is no time for recognition

Timing, is it the perfect condition?

The need for love lures the night,

And regrets are nowhere in sight!
