TAKOTSUBO SYNDROME

In the night a thought came to me,

As moon shadows fell upon a hill,

The sadness in my heart I didn’t see,

And her spirit won’t let me be,

Like the bedsheets that lie still –

Then I reached across an empty bed,

And then, tears fell upon my pillow!

O God the memories in my head,

When we made love under the willow

While the stars shone and spread

Their colors were blue and yellow.

I’m here! I know you’re coming to see

All my sadness – my broken will,

And to look at this brokenness in me!

“Dear God! Her spirit,” Let me be,

O dear heart be still, please be still!
