THERE MUST BE HOPE

A generation of kids that are so dumb,

And a smart one can’t be found –

I think, “sooner or later it will come,”

And I watch as the world goes round,

And I watch as the world goes round:

There must be hope – so never quit!

A hopeless generation from where I sit.

A generation of kids that are so lazy,

And their minds are going to waste –

It all starts at home – it drives me crazy!

It seems they all have lost their place,

No morals, no dignity, it’s a disgrace!

There must be hope – so never quit!

A hopeless generation from where I sit.

13 FOLDS

They fold the flag with steady hands,

In quiet grace, a solemn stand.

Thirteen times the cloth will turn,

For every lesson we must learn.

The first, for life, a sacred spark,

A soul that lit the deepest dark.

The second, for eternal rest,

A soldier’s heart within God’s chest.

The third, for those who gave their name,

And met the fire, and took the flame.

The fourth, for trust when strength is gone,

When battles rage but dawn moves on.

The fifth, for country, brave and wide,

The hills, the fields, the rivers’ tide.

The sixth, where loyal hearts reside,

Where mothers wept and fathers cried.

The seventh fold, the soldier’s might,

That stood for home, for wrong and right.

The eighth, for those who came before,

Whose names are etched in memory’s shore.

The ninth, for mothers, soft and wise,

Who kissed their sons with tear-stung eyes.

The tenth, for fathers, proud and still,

Who taught of honor, strength, and will.

The eleventh, faith beneath the Star,

A prayer for peace both near and far.

The twelfth, for arms of mercy’s grace,

A hand to lift, a warm embrace.

The final fold, a nation’s trust,

In flag and soil, in bone and dust.

A symbol shaped, a vow made whole,

A folded flag, a guarded soul.

And when they placed it in her hands,

She felt the weight of distant lands.

Of battles fought, of nights grown cold,

Of love and loss, in 13 folds.

NEVER FORGET!

FEELS SO GOOD

My heart I’d like to show

Then in a quiet voice she said ‘Oh!

I thought, “what’s wrong with you?”

My heart is always true!

So, tell me darling (will you?)

Then in a whisper I heard:

“Love is more than just a word!”

Playing a hurtful game is not right –

Remember what you said last night?

You’d like to show your heart?

Then please quit tearing mine apart!

The game of love is an art . . .

Always find the truth – just please try

After making love don’t say Goodbye!

Yes, touching you feels so good,

And I would stay if I could . . .

In the moonlight lying on your back,

I managed to get you in the sack!

To show you love I did everything –

So, there is no reason to complain!

Listen to your heart – hear it sing?

“The Forgotten Return”

Some came home with medals bright,

And cheers that filled the mourning night,

But others lay where no flags wave,

Beneath the soil, no soul to save.

And then there are the ones who roam,

Their bodies back, their minds alone,

Haunted by what they can’t unsee,

A war that clings eternally.

The ones whose nights are endless gray,

Who walks through life, then fades away,

Not by bullet, shell, or gun,

But by the weight of battles won.

A country quick to call them brave,

But slow to lift, too late to save,

Leaving soldiers, sons, and friends,

To fight a war that never ends.

Some made it back but not alive,

Their hearts are too broken to survive,

A quiet room, a final breath,

Another casualty of neglect.

We speak their names, we bear their ghosts,

In whispered prayers, in empty toasts,

For those the war would never leave,

For those who died, for those who grieve.

They are not gone — they live, they stay,

In shadows cast on Veterans Day,

In hollow eyes, in sleepless nights,

In silent screams, in unseen fights.

A nation owes a debt unpaid,

For promises it never made,

To heal the wounds it chose to hide,

To stand with those it cast aside.

So, raise a glass, a flag, a voice,

For those who never had a choice,

For every soul that war has claimed,

And those who are left, still remained!

LIFE IS MORE

An old rocking chair sat in silence

As winter waits on spring –

The morning fog slowly rolls in

As the birds begin to sing . . .

There is something about a dawn

Maybe it’s when the world is quiet –

The flowers drink sweet dew,

And all our troubles are out of sight!

Here we can sit and ponder life,

And try to figure out its purpose –

But if you notice time doesn’t wait,

And there is more to life than us!

An old rocking chair sat in silence,

But life is more than circumstance!

JUST REMEMBER

All you dirty rats sink or swim!

Just remember Trump is at the helm –

All of you heartless bastards –

You’re nothing but a bunch of retards!

On the luxury of the poor, you’ve fed,

And now your destiny you must dread!

“You cry out,” it’s not your fault –

But it was the Devil’s lies you bought!

Now it’s time for you to pay the price

We are all tired of playing nice!

Your choice, you have no one to blame

Greed and deception were your game!

All you dirty rats sink or swim!

Just remember Trump is at the helm!

TAKE HEED

I saw an Eagle flying

It was at the dawn of light,

It seems it was crying

   Because the world is dying!

Then I felt my heart sighing

For I to have lost this fight,

It is so simple, God was right!

“Take heed,” the Eagle called!

   (The Devil is a liar!)

“But is he real,” they bawled!

   As the Eagle flies higher

In your heart love is stored,

People, cry out to the Lord,

For only He fills your desires!

SEEMS SO RAW

Along a dusty road,

   Through pines standing tall,

The clouds roll by,

Of emotions that seem so raw!

I’m feeling so all along,

As the wind makes me shiver,

And in my heart, I am sad

Like a long and winding river!

Darkness always dims the light

   Where time waits alone –

Where no one seems to care,

   Who was right or wrong!

Everyone has their problems,

But what is hidden in me?

Despair, heartaches lie dormant,

   Where no one can see!

Then I look at the stars above,

And I can hear God call –

“There will be troubles in life,

And you must endure them all!”

I WAS THERE

I was there . . .

For nine months you heard my voice

I was there for your first breath

I was there . . .

When you first cried

I was there . . .

When you open your eyes

I was there . . .

To see your first smile

I was there . . .

To hear you laugh

I was there . . .

To clean you and to bathe you

I was there . . .

When you started school

I was there . . .

To pick you up when you fall

I have always been there for you,

But soon my sweet and precious child

A time will come to leave you,

But remember you are etched in my heart

Forevermore, so I must ask:

“Will you be there to say goodbye?”

Your mother

THE CAT’S MEOW

The smoke filled the dark room

Shadows cast from a waning moon –

The music played soft and low,

And my thoughts she didn’t know!

Such beauty my eyes did behold,

But I’m sure life has taken its toll –

Then she turns with a glance

Wondering if she’d like to dance?

The night was moving too fast –

Opportunities like this seldom last!

So, it was time to make my move

Whiskey pouring down was smooth:

Thinking, words will come somehow

Knowing she is, “The cat’s meow!”

FOR A MOMENT

Soft music played as I rubbed your feet

The look on your face was so sweet –

Troubles in life can be a heavy load,

As we kick the can down the road!

Excuses made, and we don’t know why,

And with that – our souls begin to cry!

Inside another’s heart we can never see,

The endless feelings – just let them be –

So many emotions we cannot name,

But we all need someone to blame . . .

Soft music played as I rubbed your feet

The look on your face was so sweet –

Then I noticed this smile on your face,

And for a moment – love finds its place.
