A LIFE WITH PURPOSE

 

In the shadows of the Blue Ridge

Where time drifted at its own pace –

A young lad playing in fields of sage

Before I knew about the rat race!

 

Everything was done with purpose!

We knew when to plant and harvest –

In summer we prepared for winter,

Then at night fall we would rest!

 

Prayer was said at every meal . . .

And at school we honored the flag –

A simple life that had purpose,

And a childhood game called tag!

 

In the shadows of the Blue Ridge –

Life growing up without a fridge!

YOU WERE RIGHT

 

In my mind I struggle

I struggle to hear –

I talk to the wind . . .

Then I feel it come near –

I look deep into my soul

Things don’t seem right

I need to figure it out

Fears of flight or fight!

I’m sad, I’m all alone,

And this is growing old!

Perhaps it’s insanity,

But I need to know!

I look into myself . . .

I look up and smile

God watches over me

I’m still His child!

“What is wrong Lord?”

You said not to fear!

“Live life in moments,

And know that I am here!

Put away your troubles

Roll up your sleeves –

The storms will pass

You just have to believe!”

I start to think again

Then my thoughts shift:

I have been here before

My spirit needed a lift!

It’s a moment in time

As truth comes to light –

Then my fears fade away

Yes God, You were right!

THOUGHTS ENTANGLED

 

I look into your eyes,

And I feel your love,

And it’s here I feel secure!

 

Why am I so lucky?

Why do I deserve you?

You’re perfect in every way!

 

These thoughts entangled

What can it be . . .

Lost in the shadows of time!

 

As though time has stopped,

And then I look all about –

Is it reality or just a dream?

 

Then in a brief moment –

Like a fog rising . . .

Time played a trick on me!

 

I woke up – it was a dream!

A perfect love . . .

That a heart and soul needs!

LITTLE SHEEP

 

The six o’clock news puts me to sleep!

   There is nothing but lies –

I guess they think we’re a bunch of sheep?

   “Common Sense,” can you hear its cries?

All day long we feed off of their crap –

With total nonsense we fill our minds!

And at the end they say, “That’s a wrap!”

   So I ask, can you read between the lines?

   The sad part is, it’s been this way from youth,

   “Trust your government,” they know best!

   But they are our enemy, and that’s the truth –

   No wonder we all are feeling so depressed!

So my stance is: “Wake up little sheep!”

And remember, what we sow we’ll also reap!

 To lead is truly your Fate,

Your given time – it’s not too late!

There are those that appose you,

But you must put that out of view!

 

Their thinking is vicious, and low –

In history you have taken your place,

And its wisdom you have got to know!

Not men, but God, you have to face.

 

Once again our flag we will raise,

Obstructionists, deceitful hearts filled;

Laws established they try to rephrase –

But the border wall you have to build! 

 

Better are you than men you please –

Promises – only saying what you mean!

You see what the forgotten man sees,

And the swamp will once again be clean!

 

America, I know is close to your heart,

And you handle her with great care –

If only our leaders would do their part;

Before God was an oath they did swear!

 

Look to the future – be strong, be bold!

Hurry! Hurry! We’re running out of time,

Soon the truth we all will have to know –

In the halls you walk – wisdom you’ll find.

 

Only with God there is wisdom you’ll attain;

The beauty of tomorrow is in your eyes –

And with God’s help the swamp you’ll drain!

And the forgotten man you hear his cries.

 

So Teflon Don, do your work, and do it well!

And God will guard you from evil men –

This beautiful land where we all dwell,

We know you’ll make America great again!

CHOOSE RIGHT

How we look at life is up to us –

Is it good or is it bad?

A simple choice – choose right

or face the circumstances! All

actions will or will not pay dividends!

So smile at life – find harmony

within your soul, and let your mind

find understanding of life’s purpose!

A positive mindset guides your steps,

and those around you will benefit –

“Lord my heart is filled with gratitude!”

Without you Lord I am nothing!

Every breath I take depends on You!

A simple choice – choose right!

UPON THE SHEETS

 

You whisper, “I love you!”

Now what am I to do?

Yes darling, I love you too

Two hearts in love, it’s true!

 

Your eyes are on fire,

And a heart filled with desire!

The lines have been crossed

Caution the wind is tossed!

 

Upon the sheets we meet –

I kiss you from head to feet!

Then places become damp

As I kiss your tramp stamp!

 

You whisper, “I love you!”

I know exactly what to do.
